Baccarat Policies
Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards. Cards below a value of ten are counted at their printed number whereas 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each given a value of 1. Bets are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual gamblers; they strictly act as the 2 hands to be played).
2 hands of 2 cards shall then be played to the ‘banker’ and ‘player’. The total for each hand will be the grand total of the two cards, but the 1st digit is discarded. For eg, a hand of seven and 5 will have a total of 2 (sevenplusfive=twelve; drop the ‘one’).
A third card could be given out depending on the foll. guidelines:
- If the player or banker has a total of 8 or 9, each bettors stand.
- If the player has 5 or less, he/she hits. Players stand otherwise.
- If player stands, the banker hits of five or lower. If the gambler hits, a chart might be used to decide if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The bigger of the two scores wins. Successful stakes on the banker pay out nineteen to 20 (even money less a 5 percent commission. Commission is kept track of and moved out when you leave the table so be sure to have cash still before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay one to 1. Winner bets for tie usually pays 8 to 1 and on occasion nine to one. (This is not a good bet as ties happen less than 1 every ten hands. Definitely don’t try putting money on a tie. Still, odds are significantly better – nine to one vs. 8 to 1)
When played accurately, baccarat offers fairly decent odds, aside from the tie wager obviously.
Baccarat Strategy
As with every games, Baccarat has some established myths. One of which is very similar to a roulette myth. The past is in no way an actual indicator of future actions. Keeping track of past outcomes on a chart is definitely a waste of paper as well as an insult to the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.
The most established and almost certainly most successful method is the one-three-two-6 method. This method is used to accentuate payouts and lowering risk.
start by betting one unit. If you win, add one more to the two on the table for a total of three on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have six on the table, take away 4 so you have two on the third gamble. If you win the third gamble, add two to the four on the table for a grand total of six on the 4th gamble.
If you don’t win on the initial bet, you take a loss of 1. A win on the 1st bet followed by loss on the 2nd will create a loss of 2. Wins on the first 2 with a loss on the third gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first three with a loss on the 4th mean you breakeven. Coming away with a win on all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of ten. This means you can get beaten the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
