Baccarat Regulations
Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards in a shoe. Cards which are valued under ten are of their printed value whereas 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each given a value of 1. Bets are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual people; they strictly depict the 2 hands to be dealt).
Two hands of two cards shall then be given out to the ‘banker’ as well as ‘player’. The total for each hand is the grand total of the 2 cards, but the first digit is dropped. For e.g., a hand of 7 and 5 has a value of 2 (sevenplusfive=12; drop the ‘1′).
A 3rd card can be given out depending on the foll. guidelines:
- If the player or banker has a score of 8 or 9, both gamblers stand.
- If the bettor has 5 or less, he hits. gamblers stand otherwise.
- If player stands, the banker hits of five or lower. If the gambler hits, a chart will be used in order to ascertain if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The larger of the 2 scores will be the winner. Winning stakes on the banker pay at 19 to 20 (even money minus a five percent commission. Commission is tracked and cleared out when you leave the table so make sure to have cash remaining before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay one to one. Winning bets for tie normally pay out 8 to one but on occasion 9 to one. (This is a crazy gamble as ties occur less than one every ten hands. Run away from putting money on a tie. Even so odds are supremely better – 9 to 1 versus eight to 1)
When done correctly, baccarat presents relatively good odds, apart from the tie bet of course.
Baccarat Strategy
As with most games, Baccarat has some established myths. One of which is very similar to a roulette myth. The past is in no way a predictor of future actions. Staying abreast of historic results on a chart is a waste of paper as well as a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.
The most popular and probably most successful technique is the 1-three-2-6 scheme. This plan is employed to magnify payouts and lowering risk.
start by gambling 1 unit. If you win, add 1 more to the two on the table for a total of three on the second bet. If you win you will have six on the table, take away four so you have 2 on the third bet. If you win the third wager, add 2 to the 4 on the table for a total of six on the fourth gamble.
If you lose on the 1st bet, you take a loss of one. A win on the first bet followed up by loss on the 2nd creates a loss of 2. Wins on the 1st two with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first three with a loss on the fourth mean you breakeven. Arriving at a win on all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of ten. Therefore you can lose the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
