Baccarat Standards
Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards. Cards that are valued under 10 are worth their printed value while 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each applied a value of 1. Bets are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual individuals; they merely symbolize the 2 hands to be given out).
Two hands of 2 cards are then given to the ‘banker’ … ‘player’. The score for each hand will be the total of the two cards, but the very first digit is dumped. For example, a hand of seven as well as 5 results in a score of two (sevenplusfive=twelve; drop the ‘1′).
A 3rd card might be given depending on the foll. rules:
- If the gambler or banker has a tally of eight or nine, both bettors stand.
- If the player has five or less, he/she hits. gamblers stand otherwise.
- If bettor stands, the banker hits of five or lower. If the bettor hits, a chart might be used to ascertain if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The greater of the two scores will be the winner. Victorious wagers on the banker payout nineteen to twenty (even odds less a five percent commission. Commission is followed closely and moved out when you leave the table so make sure you have $$$$$ left over before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay 1 to one. Winning bets for tie usually pays out at 8 to one but sometimes 9 to 1. (This is an awful wager as ties happen less than one every 10 hands. Stay away from wagering on a tie. Nevertheless odds are certainly better – 9 to one vs. 8 to 1)
When done correctly, baccarat presents relatively decent odds, apart from the tie bet ofcourse.
Baccarat Tactics
As with every games, Baccarat has some established misconceptions. One of which is close to a roulette misconception. The past is in no way a predictor of future events. Tracking of previous outcomes on a chart is definitely a total waste of paper … an insult to the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.
The most popular and feasibly most successful method is the one-three-2-6 scheme. This plan is employed to maximize payout and reducing risk.
start by betting 1 unit. If you win, add 1 more to the two on the table for a total of 3 on the second bet. If you win you will have six on the table, take away four so you have two on the 3rd bet. If you win the third gamble, add two to the 4 on the table for a total of six on the fourth gamble.
If you lose on the 1st wager, you take a loss of one. A win on the 1st bet followed up by loss on the 2nd creates a loss of two. Wins on the 1st two with a loss on the third gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first three with a loss on the 4th mean you break even. A win on all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of ten. In other words that you can lose the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
