Baccarat Procedures
Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards in a shoe. Cards of a value less than 10 are said to be worth their printed number meanwhile ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Bets are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual individuals; they strictly depict the 2 hands to be dealt).
Two hands of two cards shall then be given out to the ‘banker’ and ‘player’. The value for each hand is the sum total of the 2 cards, but the 1st digit is removed. For e.g., a hand of seven as well as five gives a total score of 2 (7plusfive=twelve; drop the ‘1′).
A third card might be dealt depending on the following guidelines:
- If the gambler or banker has a value of 8 or 9, both players stand.
- If the player has 5 or less, he/she hits. Players stand otherwise.
- If gambler stands, the banker hits of five or lesser. If the gambler hits, a chart is used in order to see if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The larger of the two scores is the winner. Winning stakes on the banker pay at 19 to 20 (even money less a five % commission. Commission is kept track of and paid out when you leave the table so be sure to have dollars still before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay one to one. Winner bets for tie generally pay 8 to 1 and on occasion nine to 1. (This is not a good gamble as ties will occur less than one every ten hands. Run away from laying money on a tie. Nevertheless odds are considerably better – 9 to one versus 8 to one)
Played properly, baccarat presents fairly good odds, apart from the tie bet ofcourse.
Baccarat Tactics
As with just about every games, Baccarat has some well-known misunderstandings. One of which is quite similar to a misconception of roulette. The past is not an actual indicator of future results. Tracking of previous results on a chart is definitely a complete waste of paper … a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.
The most commonly used and feasibly most successful technique is the 1-three-2-six concept. This plan is employed to accentuate profits and limiting risk.
Begin by wagering 1 unit. If you win, add 1 more to the 2 on the table for a total of 3 on the second bet. If you win you will have six on the table, take away four so you have 2 on the 3rd gamble. If you win the third bet, add two to the four on the table for a value of 6 on the 4th bet.
If you don’t win on the 1st wager, you take a loss of one. A win on the first bet followed by loss on the second will create a loss of two. Wins on the first 2 with a loss on the third gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first three with a loss on the fourth mean you break even. Coming out on top on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of 10. Thus you can get beaten the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
