Baccarat Rules

Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards. Cards with less than a value of ten are worth their printed value whereas 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Wagers are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual people; they strictly act as the two hands to be played).

Two hands of 2 cards will now be given out to the ‘banker’ as well as ‘player’. The score for any hand is the sum of the two cards, but the initial digit is removed. For example, a hand of 7 and 5 results in a tally of two (sevenplusfive=12; drop the ‘1′).

A 3rd card can be given out depending on the foll. practices:

- If the gambler or banker has a total of 8 or nine, both players stand.

- If the gambler has 5 or less, he hits. Players stand otherwise.

- If gambler stands, the banker hits of five or lesser. If the bettor hits, a chart might be used to determine if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The greater of the two scores wins. Victorious bets on the banker pay at 19 to twenty (even money less a 5% commission. Commission is tracked and moved out when you leave the table so make sure that you have dollars left over before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay one to one. Winning bets for tie by and large pays out at 8 to one and occasionally nine to 1. (This is a terrible bet as ties will happen lower than one every ten hands. Definitely don’t try betting on a tie. Nonetheless odds are substantially better – nine to one vs. 8 to one)

When done correctly, baccarat provides pretty decent odds, aside from the tie bet obviously.

Baccarat Strategy

As with many games, Baccarat has some well-known misconceptions. One of which is quite similar to a misconception of roulette. The past is in no way an indicator of future happenings. Tracking of last outcomes on a chart is simply a waste of paper as well as a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.

The most common and possibly most successful strategy is the 1-3-2-six technique. This method is employed to magnify earnings and controlling risk.

Begin by wagering one unit. If you win, add one more to the two on the table for a total of three on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have six on the table, remove 4 so you have 2 on the 3rd gamble. If you win the third gamble, add 2 to the 4 on the table for a total of 6 on the fourth wager.

If you lose on the initial wager, you take a loss of 1. A win on the 1st bet quickly followed by loss on the second will create a loss of two. Wins on the 1st two with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first three with a loss on the 4th mean you breakeven. Accomplishing a win on all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of ten. Thus you can fail to win the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
