Baccarat Standards

Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards in a shoe. Cards which are of a value less than ten are valued at face value and on the other hand 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each given a value of 1. Wagers are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual persons; they strictly act as the 2 hands to be dealt).

Two hands of 2 cards shall then be played to the ‘banker’ … ‘player’. The score for every hand is the sum total of the two cards, but the very first digit is removed. For eg, a hand of 7 as well as five results in a total score of two (sevenplusfive=12; drop the ‘one’).

A 3rd card may be given depending on the following practices:

- If the bettor or banker has a total score of 8 or nine, the two gamblers stand.

- If the gambler has five or less, he hits. bettors stand otherwise.

- If gambler stands, the banker hits of five or lesser. If the gambler hits, a chart might be used in order to figure if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The higher of the 2 scores will be the winner. Victorious wagers on the banker pay at 19 to 20 (even money minus a 5 percent commission. Commission is monitored and moved out when you leave the table so be sure to have money remaining before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay one to 1. Winner bets for tie generally pays out at 8 to one but on occasion nine to one. (This is a bad bet as ties happen less than 1 every 10 hands. Stay away from betting on a tie. However odds are greatly better – 9 to 1 vs. eight to 1)

When done correctly, baccarat provides pretty good odds, away from the tie wager of course.

Baccarat Strategy

As with all games, Baccarat has some well-known myths. One of which is close to a roulette myth. The past is not a predictor of future outcomes. Staying abreast of old conclusions on a chart is definitely a complete waste of paper and a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.

The most established and almost certainly most successful strategy is the one-three-two-six concept. This plan is deployed to boost payout and cutting back risk.

start by wagering 1 unit. If you win, add 1 more to the 2 on the table for a total of 3 on the second bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, subtract 4 so you have 2 on the third bet. If you win the 3rd gamble, add two to the 4 on the table for a value of 6 on the 4th gamble.

If you don’t win on the initial bet, you take a loss of 1. A win on the first bet followed by loss on the 2nd creates a loss of two. Wins on the first two with a loss on the third gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first three with a loss on the 4th mean you breakeven. Attaining a win on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of ten. This means you can get beaten the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
