Baccarat Chemin de Fer Rules

Punto banco is bet on with 8 decks of cards in a dealer’s shoe. Cards valued less than 10 are valued at face value while Ten, Jack, Queen, King are zero, and A is one. Bets are made on the ‘bank’, the ‘player’, or on a tie (these are not really people; they just represent the 2 hands to be dealt).

Two hands of two cards are then given to the ‘bank’ and ‘gambler’. The value for each hand is the total of the cards, but the first number is dropped. e.g., a hand of five and six has a value of 1 (5 plus six = eleven; ditch the first ‘1′).

A 3rd card may be given using the following rules:

- If the gambler or bank has a value of 8 or nine, the two players stand.

- If the player has less than five, she hits. Players otherwise stay.

- If the gambler holds, the house takes a card on 5 or lower. If the player takes a card, a chart is used to determine if the house stays or hits.

Baccarat Chemin de Fer Odds

The better of the 2 hands wins. Winning wagers on the house payout 19 to 20 (equal cash less a 5% rake. The Rake is tracked and paid off when you quit the game so make sure you still have money left just before you leave). Winning bets on the player pays out at 1 to 1. Winning bets for a tie normally pay eight to one but sometimes 9:1. (This is a poor bet as ties happen less than one in every 10 rounds. Be cautious of wagering on a tie. Although odds are astonishingly better for nine to one vs. eight to one)

Wagered on properly baccarat chemin de fer provides fairly decent odds, apart from the tie bet of course.

Punto Banco Strategy

As with all games baccarat banque has some familiar myths. One of which is close to a misconception in roulette. The past is not a prophecy of future events. Recording past outcomes on a chart is a poor use of paper and a snub to the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.

The most familiar and possibly the most acknowledged course of action is the 1-3-2-6 method. This technique is employed to pump up earnings and minimizing risk.

Begin by betting one unit. If you succeed, add one more to the two on the table for a sum of three units on the second bet. If you win you will hold six on the game table, remove four so you have 2 on the third wager. Should you win the 3rd bet, deposit 2 to the four on the table for a total of 6 on the 4th bet.

Should you do not win on the first round, you take a hit of 1. A win on the first wager followed by a loss on the 2nd brings about a loss of two. Wins on the initial 2 with a loss on the third provides you with a profit of two. And success on the initial 3 with a defeat on the fourth means you break even. Winning at all 4 rounds gives you with 12, a profit of 10. This means you are able to lose the 2nd wager five instances for each favorable run of four wagers and in the end, balance the books.
