Baccarat Rules
Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards. Cards valued less than ten are said to be worth their printed value meanwhile 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Bets are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual players; they only appear as the two hands to be dealt).
Two hands of two cards shall then be played to the ‘banker’ … ‘player’. The score for each hand will be the sum of the 2 cards, but the initial digit is dropped. For example, a hand of 7 … five results in a total of 2 (7plus5=twelve; drop the ‘one’).
A third card could be given out depending on the foll. rules:
- If the bettor or banker has a total score of 8 or 9, the two bettors stand.
- If the player has 5 or less, he hits. Players stand otherwise.
- If player stands, the banker hits of 5 or lesser. If the gambler hits, a chart might be used in order to determine if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The greater of the two scores will be the winner. Successful stakes on the banker pay 19 to 20 (even odds minus a 5% commission. Commission is tracked and moved out when you leave the table so ensure you have money remaining before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay 1 to one. Winner bets for tie customarily pay out 8 to 1 and on occasion nine to 1. (This is a terrible gamble as ties happen lower than one every 10 hands. Stay away from laying money on a tie. Regardless odds are greatly better – 9 to one vs. eight to one)
When played accurately, baccarat presents generally decent odds, away from the tie wager of course.
Baccarat Tactics
As with all games, Baccarat has some common myths. One of which is quite similar to a misconception of roulette. The past is in no way an actual indicator of future results. Staying abreast of old results on a chart is a total waste of paper as well as an insult to the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.
The most commonly used and probably most successful tactic is the one-3-2-6 technique. This plan is deployed to maximize wins and minimizing risk.
start by gambling one unit. If you win, add 1 more to the two on the table for a total of three on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have six on the table, clear away 4 so you have 2 on the third gamble. If you win the 3rd bet, add 2 to the four on the table for a value of six on the fourth wager.
If you lose on the initial bet, you suck up a loss of one. A win on the first bet quickly followed by loss on the second will create a loss of two. Wins on the first 2 with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the fourth mean you break even. Arriving at a win on all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of ten. Therefore you can lose the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
