Baccarat Regulations
Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards in a shoe. Cards which are of a value less than 10 are said to be at face value while at the same time 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each applied a value of 1. Wagers are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual individuals; they simply symbolize the 2 hands to be played).
2 hands of 2 cards are then given to the ‘banker’ as well as ‘player’. The total for each hand shall be the sum total of the 2 cards, but the first digit is removed. For e.g., a hand of 7 as well as five gives a total score of 2 (sevenplus5=12; drop the ‘1′).
A third card may be dealt depending on the foll. guidelines:
- If the bettor or banker has a score of 8 or nine, then both gamblers stand.
- If the bettor has 5 or lower, he/she hits. gamblers stand otherwise.
- If bettor stands, the banker hits of 5 or lower. If the player hits, a chart might be used in order to determine if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The greater of the two scores is the winner. Victorious wagers on the banker pay at 19 to twenty (even money less a five percent commission. Commission is monitored and paid out when you leave the table so ensure you have money remaining before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay one to 1. Winner bets for tie generally pay out eight to one but sometimes nine to one. (This is an awful wager as ties happen less than one every ten hands. Definitely don’t try betting on a tie. However odds are far better – nine to 1 vs. 8 to 1)
When done correctly, baccarat presents relatively good odds, apart from the tie wager ofcourse.
Baccarat Strategy
As with every games, Baccarat has some established false impressions. One of which is similar to a roulette myth. The past is not an indicator of future outcomes. Keeping track of old outcomes on a chart is definitely a waste of paper … a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.
The most accepted and almost certainly most successful tactic is the one-three-2-six technique. This method is employed to amplify profits and limiting risk.
start by betting 1 unit. If you win, add one more to the 2 on the table for a total of 3 on the second bet. If you win you will have six on the table, clear away four so you have two on the 3rd gamble. If you win the third wager, add 2 to the four on the table for a value of six on the fourth bet.
If you lose on the 1st bet, you suck up a loss of one. A win on the first bet quickly followed by loss on the 2nd will create a loss of two. Wins on the first two with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the 4th mean you breakeven. Arriving at a win on all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of 10. Thus you can fail to win the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
